... I'll just type it out here...

Hi! This is Anthony speaking. Hey... Is this computer on? OK, then, I'm going on. (Clears throat and gets fingers ready)

|===| Prologue |===|

He runs around the little hut merrily, shouting out to the heavens. He is going to have a son! His wife is in the healer's house, getting ready to give birth. Then, he sees a faint black dot in the sky, and stares at it with full concentration. He makes out the faint outline of a man, wearing a cloak. Then, he sees him take something from his pocket, and shoots it at him. Suddenly, everything turns to black...

It was a small hut.

The healer touches her forehead and says :" May your child have wisdom..."

Then went on to touch her heart. "...and may he have bravery..."

And lastly, went to touch her sinar plexus, unique to the magicians. "...and may he continue your dynasty of magic!" And she cast a spell on her.

Moments later, the healer takes the baby from the dead magician, and runs away, into the forest, where she will meet the dark-haired man to sell the baby...

Xyler woke up from his bed, and finds about 5 people around his bed looking at him. He looks at them blankly, one by one, and wonders what the fuss is all about. Then, he looks at his Calendra, the latest model, and found out at last. It was his birthday! And then, he rubs his eyes, and... tries to go back to sleep. Then his mother drags him out of his bed. Of the many years he has been on this planet, he still could not understand his mother. He seemed like a different part of the family. While everyone in his family solved their problems with their fists and weapons, he could just think his way out of anything.

5 hours after the previous event

Xyler looked at the weirdly built building that his father and brother was taking him to. He stared at it hard and started to think.

"Xyler Vexis, 13 years old. He is here for his Apprentice Choosing. May I know where to take him?" My father's voice broke my train of thought.

"The Sun-Balcony. Please stay here while I escort him there. Sorry for the inconvenience." The machine-like thing grabbed his hand, and started to lead him to his ultimate destination. After all, birthdays were meant to be spoilt with weird trips, anyway...
